About Us


Wendy Somerville is the proprietor of No. 10 Palmer Place Tea Room & Gift Shop. She is the second owner of this wonderful establishment which has been open for nearly seven years.

Recently widowed, her husband Keith's courageous battle with cancer has given her life new purpose and meaning and a stronger faith to follow God's plan. She has always enjoyed being a hostess, gourmet cook and a true nurturer. Spending her days in a delightful atmosphere providing delicious food, great service and friendly conversation is where she needs to be right now.

Wendy has resided in Lake County for over 30 years and has three sons and three beautiful grandchildren who all love to come to "Gamma's" Tea Room.

Angie is the previous owner of the Tea Room and you will still see her around - either enjoying a leisurely lunch or occasionally working in the kitchen or serving.

We have two wonderful "bakers", Debbie, who has definitely found her niche in scone baking and quiche making, has been at the tea room for close to a year. Julie has been with the tea room for over three years and is also wonderful at baking - be it scones, tarts, cheesecakes… of course, they also make all of our wonderful salads with the homemade dressings and sandwiches.

To round out our kitchen staff we have our "Master Brewers" - Cheryl and Sue who also bake - they are the ones who make our delicious raspberry thumbprint cookies - and Devonshire cream and lemon curd.

Chris and Renay are the smiling, friendly faces you see when you first enter the tea room - they have both been here - serving the freshly brewed tea and making sure that everything is to your liking - for over six years.
